The Perfect Two Nights in Rome

Where we stayed:

We stayed in this Airbnb, which was everything we needed for two nights. We wanted to stay in this area because it is right by Trastevere, a neighborhood known for its dining. & With the right shoes, you can walk pretty much anywhere from here.

Activities:

We were only in town for two short nights, so we spent our time walking around seeing as many of the monuments as we could (we didn’t go in them as we didn’t have the time.)

On foot we were able to see: The Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, Altare della Patria, the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps and the outside of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican City.

On a different trip, I did tour all of the monuments and my takeaways are:

-Seeing the Sistine Chapel in The Vatican was life changing.

-** The Vatican will be extremely popular and crowded during the summertime, so prepare accordingly.

-The inside of the Colosseum in underwhelming in my opinion

Now the highlight of the trip: our vespa tour and photoshoot around the city. The host of the tour, Orkhan was awesome! We went in December, so the tour ended up just being me and Gar. He and another driver took us around the city on a vespa and then took our pictures on the vespas at the sites. We met at the colosseum and he took us the Orange Gardens (my personal fav) and Janiculum Hill for some panoramic views of the city. It was a blast and made for some hilarious photos lol.

Where we ate:

After we went to the Trevi Fountain, we ate lunch at Pane e Salame & got a large charcuterie board for three people and omg I can’t recommend this place enough!! As you can see above, our board was bigger than our table!

For both our dinners in town we went over to Trastevere. Our favorite was Ristorante Pinseria Da Massi. It was very mom & pop feeling— the interior had the classic white and red checkered tablecloths, everything tasted freshly homemade and rustic and they sold their house wine by the liter for 10 euros!
