I am reporting on current trends, but when it comes to spring and summer fashion, does it ever really change that much? I mean it’s really all about adding fun colors & patterns on flattering silhouettes right?
This isn’t really a trend, but when I think of spring and summer clothes, I think COLOR! This spring I have seen an emphasis on pastels/baby colors– baby pink, blue, green & butter yellow. Red & navy are always a staple for the summer!
Don’t have much color in your closet? Pops of color through accessories/shoes might be an even better way to make an outfit more interesting!
Personally, I do not have enough color in my closet, so I will be focused on collecting more basics in colors of the seasons!!
Pattern wise, I am seeing so much gingham/ checkered prints! I think I will always be obsessed with gingham, so I’m here for it! Also Polka dots are huge rn!! Particularly black with white polka dots.
& Stripes are always a good idea!
Euro summer… less of a trend and more a forever staple for spring summer clothing.
Think linen, cotton, white, blue, breezy/loose fitting outfits. Also a New England summer vibe, which you can never go wrong with!!!
Sheer/ lace/ netted pieces everywhere: I have seen this a lot in sheer/ lace skirts & sheer/netted tops & ponchos.
90’s revival…. AMEN. This is my own personal favorite style. Not for everyone, but think Monica & Rachel in Friends or Carrie Bradshaw in SATC.
Sometimes a good pair of loose low rise jeans or a slip skirt and a baby tee/tank with a sneaker or a kitten heel is all you need to look HOT!
Y2K is back!! Also I am here for a capri comeback!!!
And for my ladies that like to show extra leg, higher hemlines are all the rage. I’m talking micro skirts, shorts, and my personal fav & the best of both worlds–the micro skort are back for another year!
My tip would be to get a pair that will transition nicely to fall & winter when you can put tights under them! 🙂
It’s a Femininominon!! We are dressing for the girlies okay!!? I’m talking cottage core, flowy silhouettes that make you feel feminine.
Ties back into the euro summer!
Western chic: western has been in for many seasons now, so I’m thinking it’s here to stay, and not just in the midwest/south.
Denim on denim, big chunky, studded belts, cowgirl hats & boots.
This can be done in subtle ways, just incorporating one western element into an other wise simple outfit.
Matching sets!! I cannot express to you enough about how I love a matching set! Something about it is even better than a dress. If there is a piece I love & it has a matching top/bottom… you bet I am getting both!!
Accessories, accessories, accessories!!! Go big or go home with accessories this summer!! Big beaded necklaces, chunky bangles, bright colored silk scarfs, sequin/beaded & rattan bags.
I know I just listed 10 trends, but they really do all blend together nicely when styled well 🙂 Happy shopping & dressing up!! 🙂
